When I find myself absorbed in a scene, considering how I might paint it, I know I’ve found my next subject. I usually work in intensive bursts, allowing myself reflective time in between to consider any development. It’s in these moments of reflection that I might have a flash of inspiration on how best to represent what it is that I am trying to paint; sometimes this can mean a bold move that can make all the difference in the painting.

I work from my studio at home in West Yorkshire but tend to spend most of my spare time in Manchester. My work tends to be themed around the night life of Manchester and my main influence is American artist Edward Hopper.

Whilst I studied to foundation level, I am largely self taught, and have developed my own style outside of academia.
