Auckland-based artist Linda McFetridge grew up in Okato, Taranaki which sits at the base of the majestic Mt Taranaki and alongside the Pouakai ranges and is flanked by some of the best surf beaches in New Zealand along the Surf Highway 45. This proved to be hugely inspirational in her work. While she rarely paints recognisable scenes, there are usually elements of Taranaki that creep into her work.
